Young Projects is an architecture and design firm based in New York City. The scale of work stretches to include buildings, interiors, furniture, material prototypes and objects of curiosity. In most of the work there is an emphasis on making, materiality and spatial complexity. Building typology is often a focus of inquiry. Hybrids and ambiguity exist in favor of singularity.
Young Projects’ work has been widely published and has received numerous awards including an AIA NY Merit Award and HC&G IDA Award for the Bridgehampton Six Square House in 2022, Design Vanguard from Architectural Record in 2020, The Architectural League of New York’s Emerging Voices award in 2020, and a Progressive Architecture (P/A) Award from Architect Magazine in 2018 among many others. In 2021 Architectural Digest featured Young Projects “Casa Las Olas” in the Dominican Republic.
Bryan Young founded Young Projects in 2010. He received his Master of Architecture with distinction from Harvard University in 2003, where he was awarded the AIA Henry Adams Medal and the Thesis Prize. He received his Bachelor of Arts with highest honors from UC Berkeley in 1997. Since 2009 he has taught graduate-level architecture design studios and seminars at several universities including MIT, Columbia, Parsons, Cooper Union and Syracuse.
2Michaels LLC is a New York City based Interior Design firm founded by sisters Jayne and Joan Michaels. The Michaels’ passion for modern architecture and design started in Palm Springs, California and developed in Milan, Italy, where they were influenced by such mid-century geniuses as Franco Albini and Gio Ponti. Their design sensibility continued to evolve at Parsons School of Design and F.I.T. where they earned degrees in Interior Design.2Michaels Interiors are fresh, effortless and timeless. Melanie Roy’s passion for the creative arts drew her into the fashionable world of interior design as a second career. After 15 years in the television industry, including 10 years at HBO, she went back to school at the New York School of Interior Design to pursue her passion for design. After working with Cullman & Kravis, she started Melanie Roy Design that provides full interior design services including new construction, renovation, and architectural design. Melanie is versed in all periods and styles but designs for her clients’ tastes with a focus on creating residences that are sophisticated, elegant and timeless while still being functional. Her work has appeared in HC&G and numerous other publications.
T.R. Pescod, founder of TRP Design has been an international model and actor for over 2 decades. Having grown up in the Hamptons, soon after returning to NYC, he decided to set roots back on the eastern end of Long Island and bought his first “starter” home.
After designing and building his own home in Southampton, NY, the house was published in HC&G, Beach Magazine, Southern Cottages and several European magazines. He began getting requests from local real estate agents and friends if he would be interested in helping design other’s homes. In 2014 he established his own design firm – TRP Design.
Taking inspiration from traditional North East Coast and Modern Scandinavian designs, TRP Design has converged a clean, comfortable, personal esthetic with a modern tilt. The firm has already completed a New England watch tower home, modern pool house, a Southern shingled cottage and other projects throughout the Hamptons.
Teaming together with local architects and talented craftsmen, TRP Design curates the entire building process, from concept to construction to completion. The goal of TRP Design is to curate clients’ dreams, personalities and desires into state of the art construction and design to create unique, comfortable – and breathtaking Hamptons Homes.
