Unlimited Earth Care

Frederico Azevedo

Award-winning landscape designer Frederico Azevedo is the owner of Unlimited Earth Care, Inc. based in Bridgehampton, Long Island, New York. Born in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil in 1962, Azevedo has studied landscape design in Brazil, England, and the U.S.  He is a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, the American Horticultural Society, and the Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons.

Frederico Azevedo designs and executes most of his projects in the Hamptons. Considered one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the world, the Hamptons is a unique mix of farms, fields, woods, dunes, lakes, ponds, bays, and ocean. The exquisite natural light has been compared to that of the south of France, and has attracted renowned artists from around the world. This marvelous combination has made the East End of Long Island a magnet for the rich and famous for well over a century, and its unique architecture and landscape design is greatly admired worldwide.

Frederico Azevedo’s gardens integrate the natural landscape into a comprehensive and intentional landscape design. His understanding of architecture and the environment give each of his designs a perfect balance. His unique skills blend exotic with native plants, creating a landscape surprisingly reassuring and unexpected.  He has developed numerous major landscaping projects in the last two decades, both commercial and residential.  In his projects he develops long borders, planting masses of the same species of flowers, shrubs or trees.  Implementing a combination of basic concepts–repetition of color, texture and shape–he imbues his gardens with simplicity, balance and a special elegance.

Azevedo regularly contributes a gardening column to Dan’s Papers, which has the largest circulation of any local publication in the Hamptons.  Additionally, Unlimited Earth Care was chosen as the official Dan’s Papers Reader’s Choice “Best Landscape Designer” in 1998 and 2002 through 2013.  In 2014, Unlimited Earth Care was inducted into Dan’s Papers “Best of the Best” Hall of Fame, as Best Landscaping Company. Unlimited Earth Care received the award for Dan’s Papers “Best of the Best” Nursery Garden Center from 2015 through 2019. This honor is bestowed on those who have risen to the top and dominated their category year after year. In 2019 Unlimited Earth Care received the Best of the Best platinum award for the best Nursery/Garden Center, and Frederico Azevedo personally received the honor of Best Landscape Designer.

Azevedo’s creativity and botanical knowledge make him stand out in his field.  He defines his work as follows: “It’s a modern concept in that everything flows and is interconnected.  The challenge is to keep the spaces open, while still providing interest and a diversity zone.”  He has worked with Elizabeth Lear, Roger Cardinal, Keith Baltimore, Cindy Bergensen, Libby Lanson and other leading landscape designers and architects.  His landscape designs have received national acclaim for addressing residential environmental issues.  Azevedo’s projects are important contributions to contemporary landscape design, and have been most influential in the Hamptons.
