Christopher LaGuardia

Christopher LaGuardia is the managing principal and founder of the LaGuardia Design Group, a Landscape Architecture firm in Water Mill N.Y.

A fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects since 2014, he serves on the boards of the Cultural Landscape Foundation in Washington DC and the Lake George Land Conservancy in Bolton Landing NY.

Chris has lectured widely on the importance of the profession as it relates to climate change at Cornell and Rutgers Universities, The Museum of Modern Art, The Parrish Art Museum and the ASLA National Convention.

LaGuardia Design has received numerous national and regional design awards for its work and been published in many national periodicals and media outlets.

The firm works extensively on the East End of Long Island, and in New York City, New England, Florida, the Caribbean, Sun Valley and China.

Dan Scotti

Dan Scotti is the founder of Dan Scotti Design, an East Hampton based design firm that specializes in thoughtfully designed residential interiors, custom furnishings and residential development. Dan has designed homes for numerous New York and Los Angeles based clients.

Whether Dan is designing a summer retreat in the Hamptons, a family home in Los Angeles, or a loft apartment in lower Manhattan, he creates comfortable, stylish and distinguished spaces that reflect his clients’ personalities and lifestyles. Dan’s distinctive style is defined by a combination of neutral tones, clean lines, luxurious textiles, mid-century furnishings, vintage industrial lighting and found objects. All of his meticulously executed projects reflect his commitment to detail and his lifelong passion for excellence.

In addition to the firm’s commissioned interior design projects, Dan Scotti designs and manages every aspect of the development of highly coveted estate homes in the Hamptons. Starting with a vacant parcel of land, and a vision often inspired by the architectural style and details of the older homes in the area, Dancreates a home that is timeless, beautifully proportioned and expertly crafted.

Before making the decision more than 10 years ago to pursue his life-long passion for design, Dan was a successful New York City attorney. Dan lives in East Hampton and in New York City.

Michael Aram

Michael Aram creates beautiful and distinctive objects for the home. After taking what would later be a life-altering trip to India in 1989 where he discovered rich metalworking traditions, Aram turned his artistic vision towards craft-based design, setting up a home and workshop in New Delhi. Although he is most recognized for his signature metal gift and tabletop offerings, he also designs large-scale sculptures, furniture, lighting, home fragrance, textiles, porcelain and fine jewelry. Aram splits his time between his workshop in India and his New York City studio. Aram’s work is sold in over 60 countries, his LA and NYC flagship stores as well as department stores and specialty retailers.

Peri Wolfman

I said two words….”all white”…and that began to change the world of home design and dinnerware in the 1980s.

My store, Wolfman-Gold & Good Company in Soho, New York City, when that area was still an artist community with few stores, sold only white merchandise.

This store became a mecca for style and sophistication, and an influencer in a new way to simplify with beauty and functionality. Part of my early design aesthetic was the open kitchen idea, with open kitchen shelving, which has since become a benchmark of kitchen design.

With my partner, Charley Gold, we authored six best selling books, including “The Perfect Setting” and “Forks, Knives and Spoons” which helped bring our ideas into millions of homes.

In 2000, Williams-Sonoma offered me the job of Vice President of Product Development, where I traveled the world and created the company’s then new tabletop collections, to huge success. Restoration Hardware then came calling, and I was brought into RH to innovate and create their new line of dinnerware, flatware and stemware.

Today I take on projects of interior design from the apartments, lofts and pied-a-terres of New York City to the country cottages and sprawling estates of the Hamptons on Long Island.

Suzanne Slesin

Suzanne Slesin has been involved in the field of home design as an international journalist since the 1970s. She has been Managing Editor of Industrial Design magazine, Director of Communications and Advertising Manager at Knoll International, an editor and writer at New York and Esquire magazines, and for 17 years, an editor and reporter for the Home Section of the New York Times. In 1995, she became the Design Editor of the new House & Garden, then Editor-in-Chief of HomeStyle, and in 2003, the Editor of O at Home, an Oprah magazine. Slesin has co-authored over 20 books on design beginning with High-Tech: The Industrial Style and Source Book for the Home (with Joan Kron in 1978) and was the co-author, starting in 1982, of the innovative and trend-setting Style Books that include French Style, English Style, Caribbean Style, and Japanese Style, all published by Clarkson Potter, a division of Random House.

In 2002, Slesin founded Pointed Leaf Press, (www.pointedleafpress.com) to publish high quality, photography-driven monographs based on personalities in the worlds of design, architecture, and fashion. Titles include Over the Top: Helena Rubinstein, Extraordinary Style, Beauty, Art, Fashion, and Design and Italy of my Dreams: The Story of an American Designer’s Real Life Passion for Italian Style, by Matthew White. This year, among other titles, Pointed Leaf Press will release Outside the Box by David Scott; and Tino Zervudachi: A Portfolio.
